Wedding Gift

This is just a thought........... Mitch and Atra's wedding is March 1st. What would everyone think of a group quilt? She told me she'd like a black and white checkered quilt. Plain blocks-2 fabrics..... anyway, let me know what you think.

Wrong number?

Had to share this encouraging experience.....most of you have heard the story of my hitch-hiker cum sister? She sent a text recently to a wrong number-they exchanged texts for awhile, she witnessed to him...... upshot? He's attended 2 meetings in ND, has a Bible, been offered a study, and thanks her for putting him on the right track! wrong number indeed!

Tiger tape

Trying this new tiger tape. It is supposed to keep your stitches even. We will see. Also trying normal thread...don't want the thread to take over the design. Have you blanket stitched with regular thread before? What do you think?

Good Weekend... even though I haven't sewn

After the first few weekends of the school year where I feel rummy and can barely string two thoughts together, I feel like I've really been able to enjoy this weekend.

I was pretty tired Friday after school, so I didn't get much done except going through the car wash and doing a couple of loads of laundry - and some veggin' out time on the sofa. I did get my service bag ready before I went to bed.

I had a great morning in service yesterday, did a bit of general housecleaning, and then tackled my closet. Oh my. It's almost done... We went to dinner at Peking House which was a nice treat.

Today, I got up and studied my Watchtower. I made waffles for my family and enjoyed meeting a lot. Boy, Br. McLane sure gave a great talk. This afternoon, I did a bit of reading, did family worship with the kids, wrote a couple of mini-grants for school, and am baking cookies right now.

Yay for a nice weekend. Yay for being done with my own schooling... guess I better get my correcting and grading done so I can enjoy what's left of the day!

What have you all been up to??

Snooped

So... I snooped back to the beginning of this blog.  Wow, have we had a lot of fun.  I have been thinking that November is getting close. I really think tradition should be followed and we should SEW!  Don't know what November will bring, but...if our old house has not sold and is put back together enough to find our way to the bathroom (ya know Corona makes you have to pee). We could use this house.  I miss us all getting together!! The laughs, food and basic Tom Foolery!!! (capitalized for effect) What prairiewezel thing could come up next?  So...what do ya think?? Who is up for a three day sew-in??  Just say yes.....even if you have just had a wedding, birthing, or what ever else life throws at ya!  YES?

Great Morning in Service!

Thanks for including me! It's so exciting to see Autumn's progress..... she's doing so well. The gate works great, by the way, but Orie thought I paid too much. Oh well...... sometimes you pay to place magazines!

quilty? nope.....

I wish I had something quilty to show but...nope.  I have no pictures and really have not been sewing much.  I have been really enjoying fall though.  It is so nice to go to work at 8:00 and get off at 3:00.  Got the last of my gift for my secret sister today.  We meet in just 10 days.  Se excited to see everyone and see everyone's gifts. So...until we meet again together...I'll just share a laugh and have a song...OK Carol Burnett would not be proud (probably don't even have the words right) but have a great night!

Day 4 of School is Over... Deanna? Are you ready??

So after a very long weekend (fun, but LONG), it was back to school today. Boy, that torture beacon alarm clock sure blared early! ALL of my lovely kiddos at school showed up, as they have each and every day since we started. Twenty-five {excited} little bodies wiggled and stirred throughout the day. I am *B*E*A*T*!!!

Our schedule got a bit changed up today since we have 40 [yes, FORTY!] more Kindergarten students than we expected. Two teachers have hurriedly been hired which altered our master schedule a bit. It sure will be nice to get into a routine that lasts.

Dee, ready for your new school adventure??

One hour a day.

So....I follow Bonnie Hunter's blog. She just announced an one hour a day hand work challenge.  I have had some sitting on my keester time, so I joined in. My stitches are not great but they really have improved over a few hours. I won't be able to do this daily but. ....whenever I can.  If you want to join me for a "by hand hour" I would love it"!
