I kept seeing that and finally had to comment! Yes, it is a word........it has about 7 meanings, of which I knew 1 or 2....... interesting what you learn in a day! Had a great study with Brigitte, I'm so excited!

Whelp (is that a word?), I did it. Got my heinie up early, studied...and walked it to school. What a nice morning. Note to self...deodorant in my bag. Eww don't want to be the stinky kid.

Whew! Long day!

First day (all meetings) - check. Open house - check. Pillow - heading there soon!! Boy, it is exhausting to be "game on" with 25 sets of parents! Well, 20 really since five families didn't show. I wonder if they'll all be there Wednesday?

Why am I still up??

My clothes are ready. Classroom is ready. Lesson plans are done. Bag is packed.

I am such a night owl that I can't get myself wound down and ready for bed. Heading there now... hopefully I won't have too many nightmares! This is always the time for dreaming that I am in my classroom in my jammies with no desks and no lessons... all boys... fire drill with locked doors... no students showing up... only parents showing up... alarm clock not going off... forgetting how to get to school from the freeway... You name it: This is the time of year to fear it dream it.

The truth is that everything is ready so it's all irrational. It's always good to get the first week under my belt.

OK blogger just deleted my post...boo hoo!
So I will type on my computer then post pictures from my phone.  The first picture is my big purchases.  I watched this applique queen and I loved her techniques!  I just had to buy some of her stuff.  Then I bought silk thread, how can you follow the applique guru without the right stuff?!?  The picture of Jane, Candace and I is not my favorite but I want to keep the memories nonetheless.  Hope your Sunday night is "pieceful". 

 The quilt show was amazing! Deanna, Jane, and I had a great time. We missed ALL of YOU! Maybe next time?? Anyways, we have TONS of awesome photos that we took of stunning, breathtaking, and/or amazing quilts - but there is a bit of a glitch.

See, we had this {very} fun idea to post a "Pic a Day" from the show for your viewing delight.  That would have been so fun, right? WRONG. Sadly, the quilt police copyright police say that photos can only be posted online with written permission from each quiltmaker. So, we won't be posting the photos since we don't want any problems with anyone.

So, what will we do? I have many of the photos on my iPad. When we meet to sew on Saturday, September 22 at 2:00, I'll be sure to have the iPad there so you all can drool over them. Honestly, the photos don't do these quilts justice. They were beautiful. A.maz.ing! We can't wait to share!

Deanna, you should post the ones we took of US!

OK a bit of a ramble.
I just have to say, we must be busy!  I have nothing remarkable to say but log on to see what everyone else is up to close to a dozen times a day. (how pathetic am I?) So girls.....whats up??  I sewed today without much progress with the Applique Society.  I will post a picture from my phone next.  Candace, I would love to see a picture of your classroom.  Marge you always have fun stuff in the making. Jeni I know you have hats and loads of pictures.  Jane you get a reprieve I know you've been hard at studying. Let's see it. I'm sure I will feel less pathetic then.

Quilt Show!?!

Hey the APWQ quilt show is this weekend in Tacoma.  It is rumored to be great. I would love to go Saturday.  Anyone else interested?  We could make an afternoon of it?????

Reminder: Secret Sister Reveal is Saturday, Sept. 22

I'm so excited! I have my secret sister's gift pretty much ready for Saturday, Sept. 22 at 2:00 at Gloria's house. I am POSITIVE that she is going to like it! Wahooo!

Our swap and sew day is exactly ONE MONTH AWAY! Get those gifts, show-and-tell, and projects to work on ready!

Wow does it feel like fall.  Did we have summer?  Seems like it was so short lived.  Have to say I'm ready for a regular schedule.  Not ready for the rain to start. Here's hoping for an Indian Summer. Someone I saw last weekend looked Indian....black foot! hehe

Summer is winding down...

I can tell because I am having a super hard time fitting in sewing again. :o( Already. :o(

I know I should be happy that I got studied this morning, went to meeting, spent some time with the family... But fixing dinner interrupted my pressing and prepping for a new quilt. Huge bummer. Oh well, it'll still be there tomorrow...

Jeannie finished her S quilt top and brought it to show. I brought the quilts I've been working on. Lots of gifts were exchanged! Fun times...

Cowboy quilt - reversible!!

I love how my frugal use of itty-bitty leftover pieces totally made this a reversible quilt... In fact, I think I {LOVE} the BACK SIDE best! SO stinkin' cute!

It's funny... I didn't really like this quilt much before. Time for binding!

Got to quilt my baby cowboy quilt!

So I put the cowboy baby quilt on the machine and got to work. I did a freehand loop and stars design. So happy to finally get something actually QUILTED!

Guess what?  We have a blue moon coming up.....August 31.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for...the morning and the way the roosters next door crow only loud enough for me to hear them after I wake up. Oh yea...and coffee!

Yep, only 5 more shifts left at work.  I am so excited to have a few days off before starting my new job.  Hmm a little time to sew, study, read....whatever my heart desires.  Just have to say after the last post...no dentist.  Now if only the sun would peak out too. The possibilities are endless....
